23/06/2025, 09:00 – 17:00 CET (UTC +2)
Description
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has included in the European Plan for Aviation Safety (EPAS) 2025 rulemaking task RMT.0727 for the alignment of Part 21 with Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 (EASA Basic Regulation). In the fourth phase of RMT.0727 (Subtask 4), EASA is reviewing the European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) system in relation to the demonstration of design capability with a view to making it more proportionate to the complexity and criticality of the various ETSO articles that are subject to certification. This rulemaking task is expected to lead to the publication for consultation of a Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) towards the end of 2025.
As part of the process for developing the NPA, EASA is organising a Webinar on 23 June to gather the views of affected stakeholders. The following topics will be discussed:
- options for design capability demonstration;
- design organisation approval (DOA) versus alternative procedures to design organisation approval (ADOA);
- evolution of the ADOA concept;
- EASA Level of Involvement (LoI) for ETSO authorisation (ETSOA);
- classification and approval of ETSO article design changes; and
- DOA privileges for ETSOA.
Who should attend the Webinar?
- ETSOA holders or applicants;
- type certificate (TC) or supplemental type certificate (STC) holders;
- competent authorities; and
- EASA bilateral partners.
Audience feedback, questions, and interactive polls will be managed using Slido.
All persons interested in attending are requested to use their professional email addresses. Attendance confirmation and the webinar link will only be provided upon registration confirmation.
