Regular update of the aerodrome rules for the transposition of ICAO SARPs amendments

ICAO Council regularly adopts new Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) in Annex 14 Volumes I & II to the Chicago Convention. In addition, it regularly approves amendments of the procedures and guidance material contained in the Technical Documents that are related to Annex 14. These amendments may need to be transposed in Commission Regulation (EU) No 139/2014 and the associated certification specifications (CS), acceptable means of compliance (AMC) and guidance material (GM).

The objective of this rulemaking task is to increase the level of safety at aerodromes, to ensure global interoperability of aerodrome operations and design, and to ensure a level playing field amongst aerodrome operators. This is achieved by regularly addressing issues stemming from the latest ICAO SARPs, PANS and guidance material related to aerodromes.

This rulemaking task will also be used to address safety recommendations related to aerodromes received from Accident Investigation Authorities, proposals from stakeholders, as well as editorial changes and/or harmonisation of regulations.
