EASA supports the European Commission on the implementation of Regulation (EU) No 598/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 on the establishment of rules and procedures with regard to the introduction of noise-related operating restrictions at Union airports within a Balanced approach. As per Article 7(3) of the regulation, EASA collects, verifies and publishes noise performance information of aircraft operating at EU airports. The verified ANP data is now available on EASA's website under 'Aircraft Noise and Performance (ANP) Data'.
In line with Article 7(2) EASA has been designated as the responsible entity for collecting aircraft noise certificate (or the equivalent noise documentation) data of individual aircraft operating at Union airports from aircraft operators and making that information available to competent authorities, EU/EEA air navigation service providers and EU/EEA airport operators. The regulation is applicable to civil fixed-wing aircraft with a maximum certificated take-off mass of 34 000 kg or more, or with a certificated maximum internal accommodation for the aircraft type in question consisting of 19 passenger seats or more, excluding any seats for crew only. The collected data is available on the EASA Environmental Portal’s ANC Database.
