Rotorcraft Structures Workshop, February 18-19, 2025

The second Rotorcraft Structures Workshop took place at EASA in Cologne on February 18-19, 2025.
The Rotorcraft Structures Workshop is a forum to discuss rotorcraft (CS-27, CS-29, CS-VLR) structures topics between the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), National Competent Authorities (NCAs), and applicants for type certificates (CTs) and supplemental type certificates (STCs).
The Workshop was fully booked with over 130 participants from all over the world.
A wide range of EASA and Industry speakers shared their experience and lessons learned and discussed key technical subjects.
Subjects included structural requirements along with the related acceptable means of compliance (AMC), EASA policies and the Certification Memorandum related to materials, fatigue, damage tolerance, and vibration. Other major structural topics, including the impact on structures from external and internal installations, hybrid bearings, CIVP, crashworthy fuel tanks, bird strike, and the rulemaking progress, wiere also addressed.
