The Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement signed in Brasilia on 14 July 2010 has entered into force on 27 August 2013. EASA and ANAC-Brazil are currently developing implementation procedures required for the practical implementation of the Agreement. These procedures will be published on the EASA website when formally adopted by the Parties. The text of the Agreement can be found here
Despite the fact that Iceland, Norway and Switzerland are not part of the Agreement on civil aviation safety between the EU and Canada, the following Working Arrangements for the promotion of aviation safety between TCCA and the Civil Aviation Authorities of Iceland, Norway and Switzerland, reflect the technical elements related to aviation safety contained in the Agreement on civil aviation safety between the EU and Canada and facilitate the recognition and acceptance of approvals and testing in the areas established by Article 1(2) of the arrangements. Moreover, the Working Arrangements designate the Competent Authorities for design approvals, production oversight and the certification of maintenance organisations.
The consolidated version of the 'Agreement between the USA and the EU on cooperation in the regulation of civil aviation safety' (BASA) has been prepared by EASA in order to provide stakeholders with an updated and easy-to-read publication. It has been prepared by combining the officially published corresponding text of the BASA, and all amendments to the BASA annexes adopted so far by the Bilateral Oversight Board. However, please keep in mind that this document is not an official publication. This document cannot carry the same validity as an official legal text published in the Official Journal of the European Union, as it cannot be guaranteed that all recent amendments to the legislation are immediately included in the consolidated publication. Therefore, please understand that the Agency cannot accept liability of any kind resulting from the risk inherent in the use of this document.
