On 6 October 2014, EASA published in its website a proposal for a Specification for Standard Changes and Standard Repairs (NPA for CS-STAN). Once the proposal is adopted, it will allow to modify aircraft without a design approval when the Specifications CS-STAN are fulfilled. It is expected that this will have a positive impact on the operation of general aviation aircraft in Europe, promoting general aviation, while encouraging the installation of safety equipment. Interested parties are invited to submit to EASA their comments on the proposal until 6 January 2015. Based on the proposal and the comments received, EASA will adopt an EASA Decision, containing the final text for CS-STAN.
