A Agencia Europeia para a Seguranca da Aviacao constitui a trave mestra da estrategia da Uniao Europeia em materia de seguranca da aviacao. A sua missao consiste em promover as mais elevadas normas comuns de seguranca e proteccao ambiental no sector da aviacao civil.
Uma estrategia comum
O transporte aereo afirmou-se como a forma mais segura de viajar. Com o constante aumento do trafego aereo, revela-se necessaria uma iniciativa comum a nível europeu destinada a manter o transporte aereo seguro e sustentavel. Enquanto as autoridades nacionais continuam a desempenhar a maioria das funcões operacionais, como a certificacao individual de aeronaves ou o licenciamento de pilotos, a Agencia desenvolve regras de seguranca e ambientais comuns a nível europeu. Monitoriza igualmente a aplicacao de normas mediante inspeccões nos Estados-Membros e disponibiliza a perícia tecnica, a formacao e a investigacao necessarias. (read more...)
